A long hot summer is forecast. All the more reason to celebrate and farewell the spring garden. But wait ... it's already summer! Slowly, imperceptibly, when I wasn't looking, spring morphed into summer. This post contains my unfinished spring garden blogging business - and buzziness!
This slow gardener has become a very, very slow, infrequent blogger.
But I'm not giving up on the blog. I still write many posts, very often. It's just that they mostly remain in my head and don't make it to the nearest screen. Soon technology will probably allow for a chip in our brains so we can blog just by thinking about it, while gardening. Hmm... new wave blogging, they'll be calling it, and it'll be very interesting to be part of it.
Depending on what's going on in my life, and what's driving me, I may or may not get back to weekly posts. But the blog will at the very least remain a record of my ever changing garden, and my
(hopefully) ever growing photography skills.
Phew! That's spring done.
Oh that was lovely to see spring time again. Especially the photos of the poppies and the bees. Very pretty views of your garden. I'm glad you are not giving up completely on blogging!
ReplyDeletethank you, Dorothy, for your encouragement.
DeleteReally enjoyed all your photos of spring, your annuals are stunning and what a delicious shade your poppies are. Please keep blogging, even if it isn't as often as you would like, I would miss hearing from "down under"!
ReplyDeleteDear Pauline, Thank you so much for your comment, for saying you would miss my blog if I stopped. I realize I don't need to, I'll just do it less often for the time being.
DeleteThose bees are very busy. No wonder, with so many beautiful flowers to choose from.
ReplyDeleteI think I heard someone talking on the radio the other day that we are the only country that hasn't suffered from a loss of bee population. I plan to research and write a post on bees some time.
DeleteSo so beautiful! I love how wild and carefree everything is. If you ever stopped blogging, it would be a loss. :o)
ReplyDeletethank you, Tammy. Wild and carefree is my aim and ideal ... in garden ... and in life??!!
DeleteThank you for the lovely views of your garden, which makes my heart sing! It is all so lovely. We are just now sinking into winter so your post is quite refreshing. I loved the video clip of the bees!
ReplyDeleteyour garden views generally make my heart sing too - we should form an international duet!
DeleteGorgeous garden as always and the video of the bees is awesome! Hope you are enjoying your warm summer!
ReplyDeletethanks og - so far it's enjoyable - searing weather predicted to start soon though, bit nervous about that, and effect on garden, it'll be quick droop for wildflowers.
DeleteLove the Nigella and poppies! Such pretty scenes. We had a few inches of snow today, but the temp popped up above freezing this afternoon, so much of it melted.
ReplyDeleteThe nigella and poppies are so pretty and such a divine combo. I find your snow scenes very very beautiful.
DeleteAhh, so refreshing! I enjoyed what you said about blog posts that are already written in your head--that happens to me, too. ;-) And how wonderful to see your lovely spring photos and the video of a very productive Poppy flower full of bees! Do you use a video camera for your videos? I've been trying to load videos from my iPhone to the Web, and the quality is unaccetable. I think I have the settings wrong. Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, I use my regular camera Olympus OM-D on its video setting, then transfer the videos to the desktop, and from the desktop to the blog. Maybe it would be easier if you loaded them onto your desktop first?
Deletesue your flowers are dainty and delicate...breathtaking for spring...how I long for spring.
ReplyDeleteI think as it starts to heat up, I'll start longing for autumn. Fortunately, or unfortunately, as I get older, the seasons seem to go round more rapidly than they used to.
DeleteI love to have that 'chip' too LOL... with other things at hand, I forgot all about blogging last week haha... Love that busy bees video and what a fitting idea! Btw, Love in the mist blooms are always so charming... I like them a lot :-D Happy Monday Catmint!
ReplyDeleteHI Steph, I'm finding it quite liberating to go a week without thinking about blogging! Happy week to you.
DeleteI enjoyed your spring flowers. They are lovely and the thought of the warmth of a coming summer is delightful. Thanks for reminding me what that looks like on this cold snowy day!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky, so pleased you enjoyed the spring flowers. When I get too hot, I can visit your blog, and cool down by looking at your wonderful snowy photos!
DeleteI'm an infrequent visitor so I feel a little less guilty if you post less plus it is easier to catch up. I tend to visit the Australian blogs in my winter so I can get a flower fix. Really enjoyed the love in the mist.
ReplyDeleteDear Susan, lovely to hear from you. I'm currently enjoying the look of the seed pods of love in the mist. Need to get myself organized to photograph and post them, but I'm in a fairly static phase blog-wise. Hopefully your comment will serve as incentive to action. Happy New Year.
DeleteWandering the streets of the endless web I found this blog
ReplyDeleteI feel akin to my way of thinking.
I live in Italy and I love the garden spontaneous, follow the evolution
of your seasons opposite of mine.
Winter is here with me, but there is no snow and
the temperature is warm and announces the spring.
Ciao
Loretta
dear Loretta, I'm so glad you found my street. We are kindred spirits.
DeleteI enjoyed the clip of your four bees buzzing in the flower with birds chirping in the background. Impressed with that orange wallflower, too. Not familiar with that flower.
ReplyDeleteThe usual wallflower was pink, rhen they started coming out in various colours.
DeleteOh yes, that is Love in a Mist which I MUST grow this year. And is that Lauren's Grape poppy? So nice to see Spring (or Summer) in bloom and those busy, busy bees!
ReplyDeletenot familiar with Lauren's Grape poppy - this one is opium poppy. You can't buy it, a friend gave me some seeds years and years ago, and they keep coming back. I think those bees are getting an extra special buzz ...
DeleteYour garden looks great, but I loved the bees on the poppy video. They looked like very happy bees. Hope to see more from you!
ReplyDeletethanks donna - the bees get absolutely blissed out on those poppies. I love the video too.
