about this blog

I started this blog in 2008. It started mainly as a way of tracking the evolution of my dry garden, and that led to an interest in photography and in the creatures that live in the garden. It's still about the garden and wildlife, but now my passion is thinking about how we humans can learn to co-exist with wild animals and plants, especially in urban areas.

spring has sprung

As well as flowers busy budding, the dragonflies are back, there are lots of birds and bird sounds, and bees and butterflies. But my photographic skills are not skilful enough to capture these.

  1. How nice to know that somewhere on Earth there is actually spring now. Yesterday we had the first touch of snow. Winter is on its way.
    Happy gardening!

  2. yes - it's amazing how different our gardening experiences are. It never ever snows where I live, winters are often mild and lovely and many things are in flower.
